How much does it cost to stay at Paperbark Camp?
Best rates are available when booking direct online, you can find all our rates published on our rates page and you can also browse our current special offers by clicking the button at the top of the page.

Do I need to pay a deposit for my booking?
10% payment is made at time of booking.

What are the check in and out times?
The official answer is check in is at 14:00 and check out is by 11:00. But things are pretty cruisy down here so if you're running ahead of schedule and want to check in early just call ahead and we'll see what we can do. If your tent isn't ready we will put it next in line... meanwhile you can head off for a paddle or bike ride or enjoy a drink or snack on the Gunyah verandah.

Do you have a minimum stay on weekends?
Yes. Any booking that includes either a Friday or a Saturday is normally a minimum 2 night stay.

Do you accept children at Paperbark Camp?
Yes, but to maintain a peaceful ambience for all our guests we do not cater to children under the age of 10 , except for designated periods in school holidays when we do cater to all school age children. Children of all ages are welcome to dine in the Gunyah restaurant when seated with adults and under supervision. Paperbark Camp is a great place to come with older children, they'll love the forest and the wildlife and you'll love getting them outdoors and away from the TV! Do we accepts pets?
Unfortunately we are unable to accept pets... our local furry friends would never forgive us! Tomerong Village Kennels is just a short drive from the camp and they provide outstanding accommodation for dogs and cats.

Is there parking on site?
We have plenty of outdoor parking which is situated just a little way away from the restaurant and accommodation. Upon arrival you can drop luggage at Reception before parking car in the guest carpark.

Is there power in the tents?
The tents have 12V power which provides lighting and powers a USB port that can charge mobile phones etc. In the case of medical need (CPAP for example) we are able to arrange a separate power source.
- As with all contagious disease, we ask that anyone displaying flu like symptoms practice good hygiene and social distancing to minimise spread.

How big is the tent?
The Deluxe and Deluxe Plus safari tents are roughly the size of a medium sized bedroom and also include a wrap around deck and attached open-air ensuite, the Deluxe has an internal area of 19.2 m2 and the Deluxe Plus is 23m2. The King Deluxe safari tent is more than double the size at 57m2.

Is there a fridge in my tent?
The tents do not have refrigeration, we are able to keep items for refrigeration in the Gunyah and also supply ice buckets on request.

Are the tents private?
The tents are thoughtfully spaced around the central Gunyah meeting place and allow for privacy whilst also ensuring guests comfort in what is an unusual environment for most people!

Is there air-conditioning/heating?
All tents are placed above the ground to capture the seabreeze, minimising our impact and in keeping with our sustainability objectives. We do have heating available during the cooler months, as well as good old fashioned hot water bottles for guests comfort.

Can we BYO?
We do not have BYO as the Gunyah is fully licensed.

Is dinner a 3 course set menu?
Yes, we offer a rotating 3 course set menu that reflects the changing seasons. You can see the current menu on our Gunyah/Dining page.

My partner is coeliac, can you cater from their specific dietary requirements?
Of course! We are able to cater to all dietary requirements, but as we operate a set 3 course menu it is helpful to be advised of specific dietary requirements prior to arrival.

Do I have to book a table for dinner?
As all our packages include dinner you will always be assured of a table if you are staying with us, however we do ask that all guests advise preferred dinner time prior to arrival.

Is breakfast and dinner includded?
Yes, all packages include breakfast and dinner in the Gunyah.

Can we cook for ourselves?
There are no facilities for cooking your own meals, and why would you when dining in the Gunyah is a highlight of a stay at Paperbark?!

Is the gunyah open for lunch?
The Gunyah is not open for lunch, light bar snacks are available from 2pm in the Gunyah.

Can children stay in the camp?
Children 10 years and over are welcome to stay at Paperbark Camp and at certain times of year in NSW school holidays we extend that to ALL school aged children.

How are children accommodated?
The King Deluxe tent can sleep 4 people in full size beds (King and Twin configuration) and a 5th person in a roll-away camp bed. The Deluxe safari tents do not accommodate additional people sharing, a child can of course be sharing with one adult. The Deluxe Plus safari tents can accommodate two additional children in single sofa beds.

We have a very well behaved toddler, would be no problem sharing with us, can we bring them?
We love our toddlers too! However the camp ambience is pretty quiet, the buildings are raised off the ground and there is a waterway nearby. For these reasons we are unable to accommodate younger children.

Do you have a children's menu?
As above, children can choose to eat from the full 3 course adults menu or they can request something a bit simpler if preferred.

How long does it take to drive from Sydney?
It take just under 3 hours, but during peak traffic periods it can take longer.
